Professional Experience

Jane Short has been a trusted advisor to wealthy families for 20 years. She joined Waypoint in 2016 from U.S. Trust, the private wealth management division of Bank of America, where she served as Senior Vice President/Private Client Advisor.

Throughout her career Jane has especially enjoyed helping older family members communicate to younger generations not only the responsibility of money but also their family values and their passion with regard to charitable giving.

Jane is a graduate of Sweet Briar College where she majored in English. At Sweet Briar, Jane was a Benedict Scholar, active in student government, and Captain of the tennis team. To help pay her college expenses, Jane ran a sewing and mending service while she was in school and worked two jobs every summer. As an alumna, Jane has served on the Sweet Briar Alumnae Association Board and has chaired the college’s Boxwood Circle Committee.

Jane has also completed post-graduate work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as well as at the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University where she completed required coursework for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
