John Clunan

Director & Senior Analyst

Professional Experience

John joined Waypoint in the summer of 2014 with over twenty years of experience as an analyst and an information technology executive. Most recently, John served as chief information security officer and senior director of operations for SAP Mobile Services, a division of the industry leading enterprise software company SAP (NYSE: SAP). In these roles he designed and implemented the information security plan and led a 24/7 global operation that processed 1.8 billion transactions daily. Prior to his time at SAP, John founded a consulting company that was later sold to LogicaCMG and spent much of his career advising telecommunications and internet companies on technical operational excellence. Much of this past experience required a deep level of analysis focused on turning data into useful information. He has a passion for problem solving and helping people “make things better.”

Combined with his impeccable integrity, his unpretentious, personable nature, and his sophistication in transacting business in several languages and a variety of cultures, these analytical skills and leadership experiences make John a perfect fit for Waypoint as we continue to expand our capabilities in serving our clients. John’s patience and extraordinary attention to detail and to process make him a formidable investment analyst.

As Senior Analyst, John leads the investment committee and oversees the evaluation and ongoing due diligence evaluation of our fund managers and other investments opportunities.

John graduated from Brown University in 1988, receiving dual degrees in Business Economics and Computer Science.
